Mike Klubnika’s Buckshot Roulette, the celebrated horror game published by Critical Reflex in 2024, has now passed 10.5 million sales on Steam.

The figure was confirmed from Steam’s back-end to Knowledge by Critical Reflex CEO Rita Lebedeva in an interview to be published this Friday.

Klubnika originally uploaded Buckshot Roulette to Itch.io in December 2023, with Critical Reflex publishing the title to Steam in April 2024. Klubnika added a much-demanded multiplayer mode in October the same year, an update that gave “the game a second life,” according to Lebedeva.

The game reportedly hit one million sales within two weeks of the Steam launch, and four million by the end of 2024.

Lebedeva described her approach to publishing in the interview, saying Critical Reflex’s portfolio is more about curation than staying within a genre, although horror titles have proved to be a mainstay for the company. Other Critical Reflex horror hits include Wrong Organ’s Mouthwashing (2024) and Trioskaz’s No, I’m Not A Human (2025).

“Just selling a lot of copies of a cheap game generally makes a lot of money,” Lebedeva said. “But let’s keep it a secret from the rest of the industry.”
